This might be a beach wedding, but feel free to put on whatever wedding attire you choose. If you want to throw on some sparkle for NYE or kick off your shoes to walk barefoot in the sand, go for it! We are just so happy to have you join us for our special day!
Important Reception Information
When you arrive at the reception venue, please have your driver’s license out and ready to present to the guardhouse. They will have a list of all the guests.
To make the process quicker, they may ask you for a password instead of your driver's license. The password is Hinkle/Van Buskirk Wedding.
If you are riding the trolley, a champagne punch will be available for those arriving at 11:30am.
Where should we park?
We would love for our guests to park at the reception venue and enjoy a free trolley ride to the ceremony and back. However, if you are unable to make it to the reception venue by 12:45pm, there is public parking at the ceremony location for an hourly rate. Below is more specific information for each option.
Upham Beach Parking
There is limited parking at the beach and will cost approximately $3 per hour.
Reception Venue Parking
The reception is being held at the Sun Island Association Clubhouse. When you arrive at the clubhouse, please inform the guard house that you are there for the Hinkle/Van Buskirk Wedding and give your name. A map showing the available parking is below.
Additional Trolley Information
The first trolley will depart for the ceremony at noon. If you choose to ride the trolley, we are asking that you arrive to the reception venue around 11:45am to allow time for parking and the first trolley to be loaded. There will be an inside area available for those waiting for the second and third trolley.
We are asking as many guests that are able to arrive in time to take the first trolley. The trolley will be making three trips and we want each trip to be full. You are permitted to bring drinks on the trolley. The ceremony is also close to Jimmy B's, which has restrooms and beverages for those riding the earlier trolleys.
Will there be food at the reception?
Yes, we will have hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and beverages at the reception.
Additional Ceremony Details
The ceremony will be taking place on Upham Beach and will last approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Upham Beach, you will want to walk down the dock located at 67th Avenue and Beach Plaza. You will be able to see the ceremony once you get to the end of the dock. The ceremony will start at 1:23pm and you will be able to take your seats starting at 12:30pm.
